Your London Weekend Guide: 6-8 February 2026

By Emma Brown, London Local

Hello, lovely people! Whether you’re visiting our magnificent city or you’re a born-and-bred Londoner looking for fresh adventures, I’ve got you covered for this first weekend of February. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s a romantic buzz in the air, and plenty of opportunities to mingle, explore, and make memories.

What’s the Weather Looking Like?

February in London is… well, February in London. Expect temperatures hovering around 5-9°C, with the possibility of grey skies and the occasional drizzle. My advice? Layer up with a good coat, pack a compact umbrella (we call it “the London accessory”), and wear comfortable, waterproof shoes. The good news is that most of this weekend’s activities are indoors, so you’ll stay cosy regardless of what the sky decides to do.

Top Events and Activities This Weekend

1. Let’s Do Shuffleboard at Electric Shuffle!

Friday 6th February | Electric Shuffle

Kick off your weekend with a game that’s taken London by storm! Electric Shuffle has transformed the classic pub game into an immersive, tech-enhanced experience with interactive lanes, cocktails, and a properly fun atmosphere. This Meetup event is perfect if you’re looking to meet new people in a relaxed, playful setting.

Insider tip: Electric Shuffle has multiple locations across London, so double-check which venue the Meetup is at when you RSVP. The Canary Wharf and Battersea Power Station venues are particularly impressive. Arrive a bit early to grab a drink and scope out the venue before the games begin.

2. Cold Storage Film Screening

Friday 6th February | Leicester Square

Horror fans, this one’s for you! The Hideout London is hosting a screening of Cold Storage right in the heart of Leicester Square. There’s something deliciously atmospheric about watching a thriller in London’s iconic cinema district on a chilly February evening.

Local tip: Leicester Square can get hectic, especially on Friday evenings. If you’re grabbing dinner beforehand, skip the tourist traps immediately around the square and head to nearby Chinatown (literally a two-minute walk) for better food at better prices. Try Four Seasons on Wardour Street for their famous roast duck.

3. Friday Night Social Mixer at Zebrano Soho

Friday 6th February | Zebrano, Soho

Fancy something more social? Zebrano in Soho is hosting their Friday Night Social Mixer with DJ sets and club vibes. Soho is always electric on a Friday night, and this is a brilliant way to meet fellow sociable souls without the awkwardness of going to a club alone.

Practical info: Zebrano is on Ganton Street, just off Carnaby Street. Expect a smart-casual dress code and lively crowd. If you’re new to Meetup events, don’t worry - these mixers are designed to help people connect, and the hosts are usually excellent at making introductions.

4. Tour of the Royal Albert Hall

Saturday 7th February | South Kensington

Now THIS is a hidden gem that even many Londoners haven’t experienced. The Royal Albert Hall is one of the world’s most famous concert venues, and their behind-the-scenes tours are absolutely fascinating. You’ll explore areas the public never usually sees, learn about the hall’s incredible history, and maybe even stand on the stage where everyone from The Beatles to Adele has performed.

Meeting point: Outside South Kensington Tube Station (turn right when you exit). The tour group will walk to the venue together, which is a lovely 5-minute stroll through one of London’s most elegant neighbourhoods.

Insider tip: After the tour, treat yourself to afternoon tea at The V&A Museum café, which is right next door. The Morris Room is one of the most beautiful museum cafés in the world, and their scones are excellent.

5. LEZMEET Pre-Valentine Party at The Century Club

Saturday 7th February | The Century Club, Soho

The LEZMEET crew are hosting their Pre-Valentine bash at The Century Club, one of Soho’s most stylish members’ clubs. This is a fantastic opportunity to dress up, celebrate love (and self-love), and dance the night away with a welcoming LGBTQ+ crowd.

What to know: The Century Club is on Shaftesbury Avenue and has a gorgeous rooftop terrace (though you might want to keep the dancing indoors given the February chill!). These events tend to sell tickets, so book via the Meetup page to guarantee entry.

6. Speed Dating in The City (Ages 25-38)

Friday 6th February | The Otherist

Valentine’s Day is exactly one week away, so if you’re hoping to have someone to share a romantic dinner with, why not try your luck at speed dating? The Otherist is a quirky curiosity shop-meets-bar near Liverpool Street, making it a wonderfully unique backdrop for meeting potential matches.

Practical info: These events typically run for 2-3 hours, with about 15-20 mini-dates of around 4 minutes each. Wear something that makes you feel confident, bring cash for drinks, and remember - everyone there is in the same boat, so embrace the slight awkwardness!

Sunday 8th February | TCR Bar

Wind down your weekend with fellow anime and manga enthusiasts at TCR Bar near Tottenham Court Road. Whether you’re a Studio Ghibli devotee, a One Piece fanatic, or just getting into the genre, this friendly club welcomes all levels of fandom.

Local tip: TCR Bar is right in the heart of things, making it easy to combine with a browse through nearby Forbidden Planet (the UK’s largest comics and sci-fi memorabilia shop) or the Japan Centre in Piccadilly for authentic snacks.

Emma’s Weekend Survival Tips

Getting around: The Tube runs regular services all weekend. If you’re out late on Friday or Saturday, the Night Tube operates on the Central, Victoria, Jubilee, Northern, and Piccadilly lines.

Saving money: Many museums (V&A, Natural History, British Museum) are free. If the weather turns, they make perfect rainy-day escapes.

Stay warm: Duck into a traditional pub if you need to thaw out. The Lamb and Flag in Covent Garden or The Dog and Duck in Soho are cosy options with history.

Book ahead: London moves fast, and popular events fill up quickly. If something catches your eye, RSVP or book tickets promptly.

Have a wonderful weekend in London! If you spot me shuffleboarding at Electric Shuffle or nerding out at the Royal Albert Hall tour, do say hello.
